Bedroom Wall Decoration

Bedroom Wall Decor

We spend on average six to nine hours out of every twenty-four in bed. For most of us, this is the longest time in a day that we are in one place, so the location and design of the bedroom and the positioning of the bed provide a superb opportunity to align yourself with the natural flow of energy in a way that helps you in other areas of your life.

A good night's sleep is essential for health, so it is also important to have a bedroom decor that calms you at the end of a busy day, and helps you to sleep well. It should also be a place where you wake up feeling refreshed, full of vitality and enthusiasm to make the most of a new day.

The bedroom decor as well as bedroom closet and bedroom lighting have a significant influence on adult relationships, being where physical intimacy take place. If you live in a large family, your bedroom is often the only place that is exclusively yours, and privacy is also an important consideration. If possible, it is better not to use your bedroom for activities that require a different atmosphere, such as work. In the end, both will suffer. In master bedroom you should try to maintain an energy of romance and contentment. Bedroom wall decor should fulfill requirements of promoting relaxation, restful sleep, and the quiet privacy necessary to foster intimate relationship. Bedroom should also contain lively, uplifting, and cheerful elements to make it a pleasant place in which to wake up and begin the day.

Wall color is one of the bedroom decor basics. Bedroom wall color assists in evoking a variety of moods. Visualize bedroom with certain color schemes and sense the mood of each - romantic, soft, sweet, soothing, striking. You can look at colors in a more daring way and combine them to create harmony that suits your spirit. Pinks, white and gray colors are favorable for bedroom walls, they look wonderful when accented with touches of red, silver and gold. more red increases the romantic ambiance, while off-white or cream creates peace and tranquility. Irregular patterns on the wall produced by fox-finishing (sponging and color-washing) are calming. It makes this type of wall finish perfect for those who have trouble sleeping.
Bedroom Furniture

If you are starting from scratch in the decoration of your home, the first piece of furniture you buy is usually the bed. More than tables, chairs, or a sofa, you need a bed. The bedroom is any space where you choose to have a bed. Turn your bed into your personal haven. Beds are a sacred place because this is the one spot where we come for regular rest, relaxation, and recovery. What style beds do you like? What would be ideal in your bedroom? How do you feel about the bed you have now in your bedroom? If you don't have a lot of money to spend on a bed, the least expensive way to approach this important purchase is to buy a metal Harvard frame on casters. Its only function is to hold a mattress and box spring. This way you can take your time finding a bed you're attracted to, or you can buy a decorative headboard and screw it into the Harvard frame. An inexpensive dust ruffle or flounce will hide the frame.

The Mattress. When purchasing your bed, always keep in mind that a good mattress is more important than a headboard. It may make sense to delay purchasing a headboard until you have acquired more practical pieces of furniture for your home. Because regular sleep is so important to our overall health, and we all have different bedtime comfort specifications, it pays to invest time and money to have a good mattress. If you suffer from back pain, arthritis, or sleeplessness, your mattress should be therapeutic. Though mattresses are hidden under layers of bedding, their impact is immeasurable.

Headboards. An attractive headboard can add considerable charm to a bed-room. A sturdy headboard is important if you like to read in bed. While doctors don't recommend sitting up in bed for patients who have bad backs, with a firm mattress, back support from a headboard, and your feet elevated, you can enjoy hours of pleasure and comfort each day reading, writing letters, or making phone calls in bed.

Often French square pillows are placed flat against the headboard with several smaller pillows in front of them, highlighting the pillow cases and shams rather than the headboard. If you invest in a wood, iron, or upholstered headboard and want it to be a focal point in your bedroom, be sure it is tall enough so that it won't be hidden from view by pillows. The thick mattresses common today make the surface of the bed so high that the headboard's traditional height of forty-five inches is now too low. Pillows provide physical and emotional comfort, and are perfect for indulgence. Just as a silk scarf adds a touch of elegance to an otherwise plain suit, pretty pillows speak of your sensual vulnerability. On the two Chesterfield sofas in a client's sun room are two pairs of raspberry-pink, highly glazed pillows with a white pin-dot design and a sassy one-inch ruffle. When peonies are in season, this room is all aglow, allowing the eye to look out the windows to the flower beds beyond.

Custom-made upholstered headboards are especially expensive because of the materials and labor, so it would be a waste of money simply to have it as a backdrop for layers of pillows. If there is a shape to the headboard in the form of an arch so that there is a peak in the middle, the center portion will be fully exposed. If you choose an upholstered headboard, be aware that oil from hair can discolor the cotton or sill fabric, so you may want to have one French square back pillow to protect the fabric when you're reading in bed. To be safe, select a style of headboard that can be slip covered.
